After the Gubernatorial election that saw the incumbent Governor, Senator Ajimobi declared the winner, Senator Adewolu Ladoja of the Accord Party filed a Petition at the Governorship Election tribunal citing various allegations on electoral malpractices and conspiracy between his cousin, Ajimobi and the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ambassador Rufus Akeju.
The hearing of the petition has commenced since then within the 21days deadline giving by the election Petition tribunal.

Hearing of the final verdict is ongoing at the High Court, Iyanganku in Ibadan as we report. Also trending is the presence of heavy security mounted by thousands of armed to the teeth policemen, operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Department of the State Security Service (DSS), including those on an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) stationed at the venue.
Also, vehicular and Pedestrian movements were restricted to cordon off the area.
